The Artery Artists – Lauren Smith, Papermaker

Meet Lauren Smith, an artist whose journey with The Artery has transformed not just her creative process, but her entire approach to running a business.

Lauren stumbled upon The Artery through an email subscription during lockdown, when the world seemed to slow down. Struggling with the daunting prospect of starting her own business without any prior experience in entrepreneurship, she found a vibrant creative community that she was craving for. Joining The Artery was a turning point for Lauren. She found herself immersed in a network of like-minded individuals, forming bonds with fellow creatives who shared her passion and understood her struggles.

The biggest takeaway for Lauren has been the profound impact on her work. With the foundations of her business now firmly established, the once-intimidating processes and workflows now seem navigable. The Artery provided her with invaluable resources and insights, introducing her to technologies and strategies she never knew existed. Now, she can dedicate more time and headspace to her true passion – art.

The collaborative nature of The Artery has been instrumental in Lauren’s growth. Through group sessions and our peer2peer support program, she’s been able to brainstorm ideas and solutions, drawing from the diverse expertise and skills of the group. For Lauren Smith, The Artery isn’t just a creative consultancy – it’s a lifeline that has empowered her to thrive as both an artist and a business owner.
