Building Better Airports is an engineering project for GCSE maths and science students.
The resource is designed to give young people the experience of working on a major design project. They are tasked with designing a new section of the airport and have to ensure their design meets the business needs of the airport, is sustainable and is within budget. They have to use not only their teamworking and creative skills, they have to grasp engineering principles to make sure they can put together a winning bid for the work. This is a great work-related learning activity that relies on good maths and science.
